I'm going to start this with a simple note, one...I have no images of me in normal every day looking style. If you ask why, its because I tend to not have a picture taken of me unless someone sees me in an outfit, and its a hobby, not a profession. Well for the most part, I'm a listener of many things. I am there when needed and always happy to please a person in at any means. I wont say I dont lie, its natural but I hate it and rather not deal with it. I study Shao Lin and cosplay along side that while balancing college and conventions. If your wondering I'm a five year Cosplayer with a good background with it. I'm not famous but I have had enough photos at one point to say, I was in a cosplay magazine and proud of it. My Shao Lin is not perfect but I study that in college and plan to make that a personal achievement. I do write on the side but nothing big or anything. I go out as much as possible so I dont end up a couch potato and loose face amongst friends for being lazy. Care to know more, well ask me.

I'm not Religious and if your are going to be like thats dumb, well I'll let you know one thing about me, I dont mean to disrespect the church by going on a sunday, the day where I get to relax and hang with friends, and fall asleep sitting there listening someone read from a book that is important to them. I may not be religious as I said but I'm so not a person to be mean in such a way. You have your way of living I have mine so can you give me that, thanks. I'm a believer in things that can be felt, if you dont get it, well can you feel the wind? Its there but you can not see it so there you go.

If anything I'm a kind person, just tend to see drama, smile, turn and walk. If your a friend and I do that, be thankful because atleast I'm still your friend and not being some random person saying shut up to you for acting stupid. Drama is something I rather kick to the curb and that means me going all pro soccer player and sending it to the curb in the other country.

I dont mind animals but I rather not have to deal with seeing a kid pet an animal, watch there parents smile at how cute it is than see the child get beat down from from not the child being stupid....but the parent who didn't get the idea...kids at a young age are not a good thing to have near a pet that has claws and teeth.

I watch many things but its mostly random now, I tend to just turn the tv on to pass out at night, thats it. I'm in a writing class and I take that over tv any day since I read and write more now adays than I have in the past. Yes I'm a person that writes fan fics, reads old books like edger alan poe and also SD Perry, and yes she wrote books on predator and Resident Evil, she's that cool to me.

I dont go out unless I have a reason and if you see me on the street, dont be like some people and point, just keep walking or say hi, or nothing at all.

Also if your wondering why does this guy have no normal pics of himself, well guess what I just dont. I dont go out and take photos of myself and if I did I wouldn't mind but I rather not since I only see myself as average and if you want to know what I'm like, there's the pics. Also, just because I dress that way doesn't mean I'm some freak that acts like a 16 year old. I enjoy what I do and the people I meet and I'm damn happy that people think I am a very nice person when they meet me in such a way.

I'm Buddhist. I love swimming, field hockey, and soccer. Often times, I ask myself why I'm doing what I'm doing. Sometimes I get a satisfactory answer and other times I don't. I'm trying to get more satisfying answers to that question more often.

Recently, I think I've become a bit too black-n-white about my friendships. I deeply treasure the ones I have, but I haven't been able to cultivate more. I'm a bigtime TV Junkie - I could probably spend easily a few hours discussing some of my favorite shows. I graduated magna cum laude from UCI with a B.A. in Anthropology, minor in Digital Arts. I'd like to one day work in the television industry, graphic arts, or pursue something in astronomy. I was never the "hot girl" growing up and I'm still not. In practice, I'm a big nerd who thrives on technology and information; most of my family members have no idea what it is that I do for a living besides working with computers. At heart, I'm just a farm kid who misses his family and a horizon unbroken by houses or oil rigs.

I enjoy disassembling things to figure out what makes them interesting (figuratively and literally), solving problems of any sort, going to the gym, and playing Rock Band. If spare time and money existed beyond this I would probably enjoy visiting new places, meeting new people, and doing interesting life-fulfilling activities such as learning to play a real guitar instead of a fake one. Sadly I have neither and my life revolves around making sure exercise is accomplished and being tethered to my computer too much time in front of a computer. I'd like to change that and have some reason to leave my apartment.

I am genuine and honest to a fault, I make people around me laugh, I've been described as "huggable", and I have a practical streak a mile wide. Children and dogs bring me great joy; cats are hit or miss. I hate the fact that my wardrobe is in transition and it would be super if the rest of my weight to be gone tomorrow, not in a few months. Let me formally introduce myself electronically. I have not posted a picture online but until then I will give you a typed description for now. Hmmmm, let's see how can I describe myself? I am 5'9"ish, short dark hair, and light brown eyes. I am athletic built and I try to workout 4-5 times a week. I do not lose sleep if I miss a day or two, but it is a good stress reliever from the hectic daily challenges of life. On the weekends you can find me hiking in the hills near my house or out on my best friends boat. Would love to find that special someone to enjoy a nice hike or boat ride with. On Sunday, I woke up at 6:30 in the morning and went running. When I finished, the first thing I did was make coffee. I make a bad ass cup of coffee... black, no cream or sugar. Went to Barnes & Nobel to check out some leisure reading. Did some work, ate some excellent home made peruvian food, wrestled a bear and wound down the night with a glass of whiskey on ice. I always seem to have a hard time doing these self-description things. I could never answer the "what do you want to be" stuff back all those years ago, and I highly doubt I still could answer them. I guess the short and sweet is that I'm an engineer - a quirky one at that. I like to read when the time is there. While my job and some aspects of my life are all about technology and science, I do have a tendency to go for the old-fashioned and symbolic. I guess that's at the heart of who I am - the conundrum or duality of what interests me (Really, I am NOT that big of an pompous douche... that just came out that way). I have budding interests in photography and golf (more fun than people realize). I'm a big tinkerer of gadgets and always love new "toys". I'm also great tech support so I'm told. I've also been called the walking encyclopedia by my cousin because of the breadth of what I try to keep up with.

As for the more factual side of things, I'm what would be termed ABC (American born Chinese). I grew up in the South and moved out to SoCal for school (USC, FIGHT ON!!) and stayed out here for work.

I could go on and on about myself. I've got that whole introspection thing covered. But you really just want to know all about me without having to try. Or just know whether we're compatible...

Either way, you're still reading so I'll try not to insult your intelligence. I'm a fairly nerdy and geeky guy. The differences are well defined and I'm fairly clearly both. I like to read/watch/consume/practice science fiction of all kinds as well as the occasional fantasy (tho I think WoW gives me all the fantasy I need these days). I play video games and program game addons in my spare time. You could google KarlKFI or AnduinLothar and find more about me than you wanted to know.

I enjoy eating and cooking all kinds of yummy foods, tho I have a tendency to make up recipes. And I really have to be properly motivated to cook in the first place. Cooking for yourself is no fun. My father always told me I needed to marry a woman who could cook. In the mean time I guess I'll keep watching food network. Yay, Good Eats!

On that same vein I also enjoy mixing my own alcoholic beverages and forgetting what I put in it, so they come out different every time. I'm not really sure why, but I don't really like beer, wine, coffee or tea. It means I get to experiment with all sorts of alternative beverages.

Anyway, I'm an introverted and witty college graduate finding myself in a city apparently devoid of people my age. So, I'm very interested in meeting new local peeps, provided they actually exist. We all need friends, right? Where do normal people look for friends outside of work and church anyway? Maybe I need to go hang out at the laundromat or something.

For each day my goals are to make someone laugh, get a rush from working out, and make myself a better person. I'm majoring in Biology and would like to study marine life while being in the ocean, and that would be amazing!!

"Learning is for the serious business of living." Those 8 words filled my ears through most of my youth. Admittedly, I was a mediocre student at best, but it's hard to devote oneself to a cause one hardly understands. But those 8 words paint my life in colours brighter than I can describe now. It's the credo I live by. Life is meant to be experienced, and I mean to do it. But the truly meaningful experiences are seen and made with others, not by oneself.

I suppose I'm just looking for those people, or that person, who I can most easily have those experiences with. Life is meant to be lived, with people. It takes a village, n'est pas?

This is the third time I've rewritten this because I never like how it sounds. My names Dakota, I'm an above average guy, perhaps not in looks but in personality and morals, I'd say I'm pretty confident in the fact I'm better than most guys. I don't care about stranger's feelings whatsoever, that being said I wouldn't call myself a mean person, but if a person doesn't have any real value to my life, I won't hesitate to tell them off if they are being rude or disrespectful to me or anybody I care about. I hardly keep what I'm thinking to myself. If I think someone's wrong as far as facts go, I'll call them on it. As far as opinions go I'll go into a fair civil discussion about a subject if someone has a difference of opinion than my own, rather than claim my opinions right. I'm a fairly open person, random at times, silly 80% of the time. Most of the time when I right a self descriptive like this it sounds like a perfect example of ADD because my mind jumps from one subject to another. I'm a sensitive guy for the most part. I believe more and more that girls in Southern California only care about looks, and personality is an after thought as I've witnessed many an occasion where a nice girl is with an asshole guy because he looks good. Which leads me to not really trust the female part of our species from a distance. I know thats an odd thing to put on a dating website, but I don't think every girl is like that and I know I'm not the greatest looking guy so only girls who don't care about looks will be reading this anyways. I like night time, not in an odd gothic way or something, I just think the night sky is a beautiful thing to admire and even the wonderful smell of the night air is a thing of beauty itself. I'd love to spend a night just staring up at it, with the cold air against my face. Also, I like video games. If there is something between casual and hardcore, I'm that when it comes to video games. I watch way too much TV, I don't think I read enough books, and I collect spooky art. I recycle. My family is surprised I'm still single. So am I.

Work hard and lounge hard.
After work I like to run the hills of Aliso or lift weights at 24 hour.
On the weekends I hang out with my varied assortment of friends to go clubbing/raving or chill at house parties.
Going to events where I can dance all night like a hypnotized chicken make me feel complete. I can listen to anything with a good beat... anything not top 40.
Frequently at work I use computers and have several geeky projects I work on at home from time to time. I like to read strange books and express myself creatively through writing.
I could eat Mexican food everyday, and I am a Vegetarian. Don't let that scare you though, most people tend to forget because I almost never say it. I just like eating that way. I love cooking at home, but sometimes it's better when I don't have to clean dishes once in a while.
Trying new things is a lifestyle with me and by now I haven't learned my lesson.

Born and raised in southern California. Lived here most of my life except for 3 years in Texas, and some time in Iraq.

I got called up for year in Iraq with the National Guard (so much for 2 weeks a year!) as an infantry team/squad leader. I'm apparently not what people expect an Iraq vet to be like though - most people are surprised to find out I was in the army. A group of Iraqi kids nicknamed me "John Kerry" because I was the only soldier they had met that said I was voting for him.

After that I went back to my real life as a computer programmer for a couple years... only to go back to Iraq again for another year as a civilian contractor doing web development (not one of the Blackwater type contractors - I sat in a cubicle).

Now I'm trying to keep busy enough so I'm not tempted to accept a job offer in Afganistan...

I am a college freshmen at Soka University of America which you probably never heard of. It's a small university of about 400 students in Aliso Viejo with about half being international students. I'm pursuing a typical liberal arts education because I am a hopeless idealist.
